[Asia News = Reporter Reakkana] This October 29, the MTV VMAJ (MTV Video Music Awards Japan) posted an announcement of winners on their official website and social media accounts. One of the winning artists was BTS, which garnered two awards. The winning boy group took home "Best Group Video (International)" for their English-language hit "Butter." The second was “Best Collaboration Video (International)” for their collaboration track “My Universe” with Coldplay.
This is the fourth successive year that BTS has won the award at the 2021 MTV VMAJ. Last year, BTS also won two awards: "Best Group Video (International)" and "Best Video of the Year," thanks to "Dynamite." In 2018, BTS claimed “Best Group Video (International)” for “Fake Love,” and they won the “Best Buzz Award” in 2019. This September BTS also garnered three awards at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards in the United States, which is the "Group of the Year (Best Group), "Best K-pop" and "Song of The Summer" for their song "Butter."
This is also the BTS third successive year for winning both "Best K-pop" and "Group of the Year”. While it is their first time winning the “Song of the Summer”. In addition, the special event "MTV VMAJ 2021 -THE LIVE-" will be showing on December 18 at 7 PM to 10 PM KST.
