[아시아뉴스통신=서인수 기자] 부산 해운대에 위치한 센텀아트홀은 세계적인 성악가 카트리나 크룸파네(Katrina Krumpane)가 미국에서 설립한 Institute of Voice and Performing Arts와 지난 13일 센텀아트홀에서 문화예술 발전을 위한 상호 협력 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다.

양 기관의 첫 협력 사업으로 오는 6월 14일 부산 센텀아트홀에서 ‘제2회 코리안 아메리칸 뮤직 페스티벌(Korean American Music Festival, K.A.M.F)’이 개최될 예정이다.

이번 페스티벌은 K.A.M.F 카트리나 크룸파네 대표, 센텀아트홀 고민지 대표, 산타체칠리아뮤직클래스 이태흠 대표, 오페라 코치 겸 피아니스트 오채영이 협력하여 공동으로 준비하고 있다.

무대에는 성악을 전공하며 수준 높은 실력을 갖춘 미국 학생 9명(Katherine Heller, Liam Swinnerton-Davis, Ela Gokturk, Abigail Jung, Eleanor Song, Lena Schnitman, Emerson Narbut, Mathilde Minty, Alexander Lee)과 한국 학생 김수경, 이승언, 석민기, 박준혁, 김태희, 박유주, 홍서영, 김지민, 배채윤, 정도헌, 김현 등 총 20명이 참여해 한·미 음악가들이 함께 어우러지는 특별한 공연을 선보일 예정이다.

특히 공연의 마지막에는 출연진 전원이 함께 한국의 대표 민요 ‘아리랑’을 노래하며, 국경을 넘어 음악으로 하나 되는 감동적인 순간을 연출할 계획이다.


카트리나 크룸파네 대표는 “준비 과정이 쉽지는 않지만, 한국과 미국이 함께 만들어가는 무대라는 점에서 매우 설레고 기대된다”고 전했다.

센텀아트홀 고민지 대표는 “부산에서 이러한 뜻깊은 국제 행사를 개최하게 되어 매우 기쁘다”며 “한국과 미국의 문화예술 교류를 통해 서로를 이해하고, 더 넓은 글로벌 예술 네트워크로 확장되기를 기대한다”고 밝혔다. 

또한 이태흠 대표는 “음악은 언어를 넘어 사람을 하나로 만드는 힘이 있다”며 “이번 무대를 통해 양국의 문화와 감성을 나누고, 나아가 더 큰 예술적 울림으로 이어지길 바란다”고 전했다. 

이번 ‘코리안 아메리칸 뮤직 페스티벌(K.A.M.F)’은 한국과 미국의 젊은 음악가들이 함께하는 국제 음악 행사로, 양국의 문화예술 교류 활성화와 글로벌 예술 네트워크 확장에 의미 있는 계기가 될 것으로 기대를 모으고 있다. 

Centum Art Hall, located in Haeundae, Busan, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for mutual cooperation in the development of culture and the arts on the 13th at Centum Art Hall with the Institute of Voice and Performing Arts, founded in the United States by internationally renowned soprano Katrina Krumpane.

As the first collaborative project between the two organizations, the “2nd Korean American Music Festival (K.A.M.F.)” is scheduled to take place on June 14 at Centum Art Hall in Busan.

This festival is being jointly prepared through the collaboration of K.A.M.F. Director Katrina Krumpane, Centum Art Hall Director Ko Min-ji, Santa Cecilia Music Class Director Lee Tae-heum, and opera coach and pianist Oh Chae-young.

The performance will feature a total of 20 students. Nine highly skilled vocal students from the United States—Katherine Heller, Liam Swinnerton-Davis, Ela Gokturk, Abigail Jung, Eleanor Song, Lena Schnitman, Emerson Narbut, Mathilde Minty, and Alexander Lee—along with ten Korean students—Lee Seung-eon, Seok Min-gi, Park Jun-hyuk, Kim Tae-hee, Park Yu-ju, Hong Seo-young, Kim Ji-min, Bae Chae-yoon, Jeong Do-heon, Kiim Soo Kyung and Kim Hyun—will come together to present a special performance uniting Korean and American musicians.

In particular, at the finale of the performance, all participants will sing Korea’s representative folk song “Arirang” together, creating a moving moment of unity through music that transcends borders.

Director Katrina Krumpane shared, “The preparation process has not been easy, but I am very excited and truly looking forward to this stage that Korea and the United States are creating together.”

Centum Art Hall Director Ko Min-ji stated, “I am very pleased to host such a meaningful international event in Busan,” adding, “Through cultural and artistic exchange between Korea and the United States, I hope we can deepen mutual understanding and expand into a broader global arts network.”

Director Lee Tae-heum also remarked, “Music has the power to unite people beyond language,” expressing hope that “this stage will allow us to share the cultures and emotions of both countries and lead to an even greater artistic resonance.”

The “Korean American Music Festival (K.A.M.F.)” is an international music event that brings together young musicians from Korea and the United States, and it is expected to serve as a meaningful opportunity to promote cultural and artistic exchange between the two countries and to expand a global arts network.
